Father’s Day Crafts for Kids: Preschool, Elementary and More!

As a former teacher, it was always nice to play a role in the Father’s Day gift at the end of the year that my students would craft for their dads. Kids love getting the chance to play their part in the holiday that celebrates their parents and role models. It’s a fantastic way for children to show their dads that they love and appreciate everything they do for them!

When it comes to Father’s Day kids crafts, you don’t have to get super fancy with the project or supplies. I know first-hand that dads will love even the simplest token of appreciation from their little one! To make these Father’s Day preschool crafts and elementary crafts easy for teachers in school and for use at home, all of these activities only require budget-friendly supplies and are a breeze to put together.

From hand prints that will one day get larger, to a cute little face that will one day evolve, to a sweet little message that can be read over and over, every single one of these Father’s Day handmade cards, crafts, and activities are adorable and heartfelt. When I recall my own favorite gifts from my kids when Mother’s Day rolled around, it was always one of these cute pieces of art that they created with their own two hands. Mother’s Day Crafts for Kids

As a former teacher, I always loved getting my students to put together a cute, handmade Mother’s Day gift for their moms. Not only did they love the activity, but I loved getting to see the fun they had while they made a special gift to celebrate their moms! It’s so fun to be a part of a memory frozen in time. And as a mom myself, I can only imagine the joy that receiving those crafts brought to the moms of my students at home!

Since my love of teaching and all things arts and crafts lives on, I wanted to gather all of the best Mother’s Day craft ideas — specifically, Mother’s Day crafts for preschoolers and elementary students, because I worked with younger students when I was a teacher! From a hand print that will one day get larger, to a cute little face that will one day evolve, to a sweet little message that can be read over and over, every single one of these Mother’s Day arts and crafts activities for kids is sure to put a huge smile on Mom’s face. When I think back on my favorite Mother’s Day gifts from my own kids, they were all the handmade works of art that they made in school. There’s just nothing better than knowing they worked hard on an adorable gift for their mom!

Keep reading to browse some of the most perfect Mother’s Day Crafts for preschoolers, elementary schoolers, and younger kiddos in general to use in the classroom or at home this Mother’s Day. Supplies include: Acrylic Paint, a Thick Wire (1MM – 2.5MM  is a great size) and Large Hole Plastic Beads. No photographed, i personally added a mini clothespin to help keep the photo in place.

  • Painters Tape

  • Martha Stewart High Gloss Acrylic Craft Paint – We used Blue, Pink, and Aqua
  • Paper Plate or Paint Palette

  3. Press your tape smooth and paint the triangle you created with two coats of pink paint.
  4. Now place a piece of painters tape at an angle from the bottom right corner to the left corner of your medium sized box and press the tape down smooth.
  5. Paint your second triangle on your medium sized box with two coats of your teal paint and let dry.
  6. Now place a piece of painters tape at an angel from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of your small box and press smooth.
