Pecan-Crusted Fish Keto Recipe

Pecan-Crusted Fish Keto Recipe with Cajun Cream Sauce

When I tell people I am from Florida, they often get a mixed impression. The first things that usually come up in conversation are Disney, the beach, and Miami. It’s funny, often people relate Miami or Orlando are the capital of Florida. Actually it is Tallahassee. While the beach was my second home, Tallahassee my my every day home. Just miles from the George line, Tallahassee was loaded with red clay and pine trees more than sand and palm trees. The coast was a short distance away and fresh fish was abundant. I grew up on fish and love it to this day, living far away from the state I call home.

Are you on a Keto Diet?

According to Healthline.com, a ketogenic diet (often termed keto) is a very low-carb, high-fat diet that shares many similarities with the Atkins and low-carb diets. It involves drastically reducing carbohydrate intake, and replacing it with fat. The reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis.

With the reduction of carbs, Keto doesn’t have to feel like a sacrifice. This flavorful fish recipe is easy to make and provides a rush to you taste buds. Blending together the delicate flakes of Cod and the strong burst of Cajun seasoning, this recipe will be one of your Keto-friendly family staples.

So many simple ingredients, you likely have many of these in your refrigerator or pantry. When selecting fish, we often go for something that is organic and not farm raised. Look for wild. It is my own personal preference. If cod is not available, look for another white fish like halibut or tilapia. Make sure you have a good Cajan seasoning on hand like Slap Ya Mama (no we don’t support this action, just the seasoning – wink!)

Pecan-Crusted Fish Ketogenic Recipe Ingredients:

For the Fish:

  • 4 Pieces of Cod
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 c Pecan flour (You can find this online, Wild Tree Farms is gluten-free, grain-free, and Paleo-friendly)
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cajun seasoning to taste (we REALLY recommend Slap Ya Mama All Natural Cajun Seasoning)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (highly rated Bourbon Barrel Foods Handcrafted Worcestershire Sauce)
  • ½ c Heavy whipping cream
  • ½ Stick of butter
  • ½ c Chopped green onions
  • Cajun seasoning to taste (we REALLY recommend Slap Ya Mama All Natural Cajun Seasoning)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped pecans for garnish
