It’s a great Random Act of Kindness in the middle of a forgotten seasons. It includes no tricks and all treats. In addition to creating a lovely family memory, this You’ve been boo’ed printable is a fun no contact hug to your neighbors and a tasty little treat.

What is You’ve Been Booed?

You’ve Been Booed is a loved Halloween Tradition for family and friends. It’s often done in a neighborhood, as part of the process is to ring a doorbell and run. Don’t worry, there are no tricks with this ding, dong, ditch, but rather left behind is a lovely bag of candy or a basket of Halloween treats. Then the recipient becomes the gift giver and the fun Halloween tradition is passed along throughout the neighborhood.

You’ve Been Booed Instructions

What are the you’ve been booed instructions? The instructions are simple. This Halloween traditions starts with one giver who prints a you’ve been booed poem.

Fall is here, the air is crisp,
To celebrate this little Halloween gift.

It was made especially for you,
It’s a sweet surprise named a boo.

Secret friends have left it here,
To bring your family some holiday cheer.

Enjoy your treats, they are yours to keep.
No one will tell who left this treat.

Attach your boo sign where it can be seen,
make sure to leave it there until Halloween.

The gifter secretly leaves (boos) two more houses with a tasty treat. They leave behind the printed you have been boo’ed poem, sign and ring the door bell and run.

The receiver hangs the “we’ve been boo-ed sign” so it is visible on the front door or window for others to see. They return the favor and become the gifter to two more neighborhood homes. The process continues until the neighborhood is boo-ed.

What to Put in a You’ve Been Booed Basket?

Include the you have been booed poem. You can include directions to boo friends on the back of your boo poem. For 2020, we decided not to bake anything and boo-ed friends with enclosed Halloween candy bags. It was very simple and kept the exchange of germs down. You know the jingle – trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat! Seriously, how did anyone ever get away with that entitled Halloween song? So grateful we have mostly moved on from that.

You know I love a low cost Random Act of Kindness. It’s such an easy way to tell someone you are thinking about them. Use them for teachers, neighbors, family and friends. Often, in the checkout line at the grocery store, I grab an extra piece of candy and attach a cute printable gift tag.

I feel like the fall season creates some of the best family memories. Seriously, if I go over all our family traditions and reflect on events that have created impressions in our home, the majority took place between September and December.

Fall is our favorite season. It provides a lot of opportunities to settle in a rhythm, embrace the outdoors, and celebrate a holiday. Some of our favorite fall activities are visiting fall festivals at local farms, visiting an apple orchard to go apple picking, going to the mountains to see the leaves change colors, eating everything pumpkin, and having our first fireplace fire! Nothing is as sweet as a wood-burning fire sipping homemade apple cider.
