Space Heater Sale

When I worked outside of the home, I had a space heater to help stay warm during the cold months. If you’ve been wanting one for your work or your house, you’ll want to take advantage of this space heater sale. This Lasko Oscillating Ceramic Tabletop/Floor Heater with Thermostat is on sale for $33.57.

This is an Amazon Best Seller, and it is highly-rated by Amazon customers. Reviewers say it’s a great heater that also is a great way to have white noise when you sleep if you have the fan on. If you have a laundry room outside like we do, this space heater is also a great way to keep your pipes warm when the temperature gets below freezing. We do this every year, and it works perfectly.

Preparing Your Home for Company

Since we moved from Florida to DC, there is probably nothing I love more than having guests over to my home. However, everyday life doesn’t always leave my home appealing for visitors. It’s important to prepare your home for guests before they get there. Over the years, I’ve come up with some tips that leaves me feeling relaxed when my guests arrive. Maybe you can apply these tips as well, so you stay less stressed about how your home looks and enjoy your guests more!

social-fabic-target-tip-1

Clean the Bathroom – This is a must in my home when I know that guests are arriving. I don’t just use any cleaner, though. I typically choose a strong cleaner that leaves a “clean” smell. One product that does just that is Lysol Power and Free Bathroom Cleaner. It’s amazing how clean it helps me get my bathroom. I don’t have to worry about any of our germs invading my guests’ space as it kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. Win-win for the guests and for my family. I also clean the rest of my house as well, but the bathroom and bathtub is a major priority.

Welcome Basket – Another thing I’ve started doing before guests arrive to my house is preparing a welcome basket. I place a few magazines and snacks in a basket for their stay. Sometimes also grab a few other things like a toothbrush and some other travel sized products for my guests to enjoy!

social-fabic-target-tip-2

Take 15 – Take 15 with a quick 15 minutes of de-cluttering.  To help me relax and to provide a relaxing environment for company, before my guests arrive is to clear the house of clutter. I set a timer for 15 minutes and during that time and tackle rooms of the house. I put things where they belong and make sure there are not extra items lying around the house. I don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable with clutter, so cleaning it up is a priority! If it is something your family routinely keeps out, place it away in a closet or basket for a few days and take out upon your guests departure.  If 15 is not enough, perhaps take 15 a few days before your guests arrive and daily apply this trick until the process is done!

Layout Fresh Towels on the Bed + a Bar of New Soap – It’s so nice getting to a home and seeing fresh towels and a bar of fresh soap laid out. One of my old friends used to do this for us and I started doing it. My guests have always given me good feedback on this. I think they love it most because they don’t have to search for a bar or soap and a fresh towel. It makes guests feel  awkward when they have to hunt for something, so it’s nice when it’s laid out for them and makes them feel cared for.

social-fabic-target-tip-3

Room Spray, Plugin-ins and/or Candle – Finally, when you’re having guests over, one thing you must do to prepare is creating a peaceful smell to your home. Consider this. When you walking into a spa (a true place of relaxation) what is the first thing you notice? The smell! Eliminate odors with the fast acting Air Wick® Life Scents™ Room Mist. This will be a true life saver for you and your guests. A great place to store it is over the bathroom toilet. No one likes a smelly house, right? Placing a plugin in the wall will continuously keep the air fresh and the home inviting so you don’t feel like you are running around the home constantly spraying – that would be pretty comical. I also light a candle in a common location like the living room or kitchen.

Of course, we know the people who are coming to our home love us no matter what, but I still love to do these things for our guests. It shows that we took a few extra steps to take care of them.  What is your favorite way to prepare your home for guests? How are you Springing into Spring Cleaning?

social-fabic-target-lysol-air-wick-collage

There are a few products I used for preparing the home for a guest – Air Wick® Life Scents™ Room Mist, Lysol Power and Free Bathroom Cleaner, Lysol Mold & Mildew Blaster, and Air Wick® Life Scents™  Plug-ins. All can be found at Target. If you shop between  3/27/26 – 5/14/16, you can buy 3 selected Lysol items and get one free!

Make Money From These Secondhand Clothing Tips

If you’re looking to make some extra money, consider selling secondhand clothes. Don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome taking your used and unwanted clothing and donating it to places such as Goodwill, but if you’re looking to earn (and have some extra spending money), hold off on donating and check into selling online! It doesn’t matter if you want your own online thrift store or you want to stretch your creative muscles and make a store selling handmade items made from used clothing – with either one, you could find your new favorite side job.

Ebay –

There are many sites online to sell used clothing. The sites that are strictly selling secondhand clothes, usually have a lot of requirements to meet before you can even list the items. Certain sizes, the quality of the clothing, and the big one being, the brand.

You can definitely make money with those sites if your clothing meets those requirements, but if you want less stress and a bigger group of buyers, try eBay. EBay has been around for years, it’s trusted, and people are going there searching for killer deals on items such as clothes.

Tip to Make More: If you don’t have many of your own clothes to sell, check out the thrift stores in your area. Many stores run weekly specials on different items. Find when your stores run sales on clothing – you can score some great pieces at low prices, then go home and list them on eBay – you can easily make good money selling secondhand clothing in your own eBay store. Be sure to do some research and see what brands sell best.

Local Facebook Yard Sale Groups –

Check to see if your area has a Facebook yard sale group. Local people post what they have and sell to local buyers. You can get rid of your items, get cash in hand, and skip on shipping! You also get to see someone’s profile which might give a little more insight into your buyer. Usually Facebook groups have group rules to make sure to look them over before selling.

Tip to Make More: Often larger, speciality brand names have their own re-sell group. Two of my personal favorites are LuluLemon and Mini Boden!

Etsy –

There are numerous ways to upcycle/recycle secondhand clothing into awesome, one of a kind items. Craft supply prices can be high, but when your medium is used clothing, it’s good not only for your budget, but the planet as well! Take an old t-shirt and make a rug or even yarn! Sweater can turn into boot cuffs, coffee cozies, stuffed animals and more!  Turn men’s button up shirts into cute baby bibs.

Tip to Make More: When I say there’s numerous ways to turn clothing into new crafts, I’m not exaggerating. Utilize the web to help with your creativity. A quick Pinterest search and you will see many ideas on how to use t-shirts, sweaters, socks, ties, you name it!

ThredUP –

ThredUP is the place I sell my unwanted clothes. I also use the money I make selling my clothes to buy future clothes for my girls and for myself. You can order a bag on thredUP and have it shipped to your house. I keep my empty bag under my kid’s bed and as they outgrown quality clothing I toss the clothing in the bag. Eventually the bag is full and I ship it to the company!

Tip to Make More: Buy online in good condition, resell in good condition. This is what I do. Are you not making money fast enough to purchase more used clothing? Refer your friends for a credit of $10. You get $10 and they get $10 with a referral too!

Whether you’re selling used clothing as it is or turning it into unique, one of a kind items, you’ll be able to make money. With these ideas you’re able to capture two big groups of people, those wanting to save money and shop frugally for clothing, as well as those who are willing to spend extra money to get something handmade. Now, go scour the clean laundry for unwanted clothes and make that money!

If you are looking to turn to oils to cut down on the chemicals in your home from cleaning and beauty products I recommend adding Thieves oil to your first purchase.
