Publix Weekly Ad Deals 6/29 to 7/5 (6/30 to 7/6)

Publix Coupon Guidelines
1. Publix Takes Competitors Coupons.
2. On B1G1, use two coupons (you are getting two items.)
3. You do not have to buy two of the B1G1 items to get the sale price (In many FL locations you do have to buy both items. Check with your local store).
4. Always combine store (SC) and manufacturer (MFR) coupons. Instead of a SC, you can use a Competitor Store Coupon (CC.)
5. Many Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are $.50 or less (Tallahassee and most FL locations do not!) Please note, my calculations are for stores that DO NOT double coupons buying two items.
6. Some Publix sales start Wednesday to Tuesday, others are Thursday to Wednesday. Call your local Publix for their sale dates.
Fore mroe coupon guidelines, please refer to the most recent Publix Coupon Policy.

Publix Weekly Ad Recipe: Not Fried Chicken

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

June 25, 2011 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Publix, Recipe, Store Deals

published date: June 25, 2011
modified datt: June 24,2011

Coupon Chaos Mama is taking the “fried” out of chicken this week, but still leaving all the flavor. This recipe is intended to pair with Publix’s Current Weekly Ad Sales.

NOT Fried Chicken
Ingredient prices are based on the Publix Circular starting Wed. or Thurs. depending on your location.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs Split Chicken Breast $1.79 lb OR
Publix GreenWise Market Split Chicken Breast $3.49 lb
1 cup whole wheat flour $3.79
$1 Arrowhead Mills product
Non-fat or low-fat milk
$1.50 Stonyfield Organic Milk Rolling
$1.50 Smart Balance Milks SS 6/5
$.50 off Omega 3 Milk Organic Valley
$.55 Horizon Organic Milk Plus DHA Half Gallon Rolling
Eggland’s Grade A Best Large Eggs – 12 ct $4/2
$1/2 Eggland’s Best SS 5/1
$.50 Eggland’s Best SS 5/1
$.50 Eggland’s Best, Weight Watchers February 2011
3 cups crushed corn flakes $3.29 (Kellogg’s cereals are B1G1 this week, but looks like cornflakes may not be included)
$1/2 Kellogg’s Corn Flakes
OR
B1G1 Nabisco Whole Wheat Ritz Crackers – 9.5 to 16 oz $3.39
$1/2 Nabisco Crackers SS 6/19
$1/2 Ritz crackers SS 5/15
Lawry’s Garlic Salt – 11 oz or Seasoned Salt – 16 oz $2.99 (Optional)
Raspberries, Blueberries, or Blackberries – 5.6 to 16 oz $6/3
$.50 Driscoll’s Berries Rolling

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using 1 1/2 lbs split chicken breasts (thighs or legs will work too), remove the skins then rinse and pat dry. Prepare batter by mixing 1 cup milk and 1 egg together and beating until combined, next stir in 1 cup whole wheat flour until thick. Add a dash of salt and pepper to taste.
  • Prepare 3 cups corn flakes (or Whole Wheat Ritz crackers) by placing in a Ziploc bag and crushing with a rolling pin(or I smash the heck out of them with the back of spoon- kinda therapeutic). You do want some texture so don’t smash them up too badly. Add 1/4 tsp of salt (you can also use garlic powder or another seasoning salt like Lawry’s) and mix with a fork.
  • Place batter and crushed corn flakes (or Ritz) in shallow bowls. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray or line with foil. Dip chicken pieces first in the batter, allowing the excess batter to drip off into the batter bowl, then place the battered chicken piece into the crushed corn flakes. You may have to press the chicken pieces in lightly to make sure they are coated. Flip and repeat.
  • Place the dipped chicken on the cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for about 45-60 minutes until golden and crisp. Serve with a mixed berry fruit salad.

TLC’s Extreme Couponing Aftermath at Publix?

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

April 28, 2011 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Press, Publix, Store Deals

published date: April 28, 2011
modified datt: April 28,2011

Whether you have been couponing for years are you area  newbie, chances are you have heard about TLC’s newest show, Extreme Couponing.

This show has glamorized the art of clearing shelves, stockpiles that are towers high, and a lifestyle that cannot be kept up by the average individual. In fact, there has even been talk of coupon fraud on the show.

Since this show aired, there has been a lot of coupon activity. Many individuals are coming into couponing looking to save 95% on their grocery bill. While I do not claim you will never walk out of a store paying nothing, to do this weekly with your groceries is not accurate. Depending on your area (different prices of meat, regions that double, those that can use competitor coupons) you should be saving 50% to 80% on your grocery bill.

With this recent explosion of “extreme couponing”, some stores are tightening their belt…one rumor being Publix. It is said that TLC will air some “extreme couponers” at Publix in an upcoming episode. Just yesterday, Publix’s Fan Facebook page announced that they are indeed changing their coupon policy and will release it in one month’s time.

There is chat about one type of competitor coupon per transaction, competitor coupons being limited to competitor stores that house a deli, bakery, and meat department, as well as use of competitor coupons that are only in a five mile radius.*

If you are a Publix Shopper, check out this recent article posted by the Tampa Tribune – Publix May Change It’s Coupon Policy. There is good conversation going on, so leave your thoughts here, on Facebook, or on The Tribune’s Website.

You can find current Publix Weekly Ad Deals on Frugal Coupon Living.
