My kids  often go here and there – gymnastics, ballet, grandparents, school, the pool and more. We often misplace one or two things a week on our journey. The worst is buying new items to replace what we already had, that is why I have LOVED labeling most everything, especially with this adorable brand – Kiddo Tags.

kiddo-tags

They have a great prices, sheets as low as $5.49. The many uses are clothing tags, iron on tags, bag tags and something I haven’t seen before re-mark-able labels. Write on them, erase and mark them up again.

Looking for ideas, check out their instagram photo (available on their website) for the  many uses for your labels.

I just spent my credits. I was so happy to purchase the twin pack for both my girls and also grabbed from bag tags for their lunch and backpacks. I seriously had so much fun choose between the icons, colors and fonts – some REALLY CUTE ideas. I wish I could have been on a dozen icons and images. Loved the owls, birds, butterflies, crowns, and so many other choices.

lovablelablescollage

Loveable Labels is fun and colorful way to prepare your child for school- not to mention a great time saver! Recently, I was given the opportunity to give them a try (again), and was delighted since I have been a paying customer for the past few years!  Plus, I knew the readers of Frugal Coupon Living would share my passion with Loveable Labels too!

Whether it be school, daycare, school actives, or camps as a parent you understand the necessity of labeling everything! However, not all items are easy to label. Right!?  That’s why I am fan of Loveable Labels.  Personally for shared items or items that will be passed down ( like jackets) I use our family last name- so simply!

Loveable Labels are more than just a pretty sticker.   Their “Regular” and “Slimline” labels are microwave and dishwasher safe, perfect for lunch items that when not labeled typical get left behind!  The “Iron-on” labels stay put in the washer and dryer.  The “Shoe Labels” has always amazed me they just will not fall off- Love that!  I did recently learn there is a reason behind this;  they include extra strength adhesive to ensure they stay in place!

Parents approve of  Loveable Labels, and I know you will too!  The Back to School Pack is great and everything you would need all year long, and perhaps longer.  It’s a great value and mets the quality standard that satisfied parents. Keep your kids’ things out of the lost and found bin with this Back to School Pack! “The Doc is in and she’ll fix you up! If you’re a toy, then you’re in luck…”

Chances are if you are singing a long with me you have a huge Doc McStuffins fan in your home! If you have a Doc McStuffins fan, you likely have someone who loves her toys and most importantly her stuffed animals. This show and stuffed animals define our home especially with my 5-year old daughter, Lucianna (Lucy).

Once Disney’s Doc McStuffins came out, Lucy has been talking about a party with her favorite Doctor. She has quite the collection of Build-A-Bear Bears on her bed and we knew there was no other place to go than to visit the Build-A-Bear Workshop with her friends!

build-a-bear-party-1

Build-A-Bear Workshops did an amazing job with my preschooler and her classroom friends. The children were greeted and given name tags. The hostess was beyond gracious and friendly and helped each child pick out a bear and name her new friend. The girls were then escorted to the basin of hearts where they picked two hearts – one they would give Lucianna and one for their own bear. The took the hearts and shook them with loved, covered them with kiss and wrapped in many hugs. They then had the opportunity to place a heart in Lucianna’s Bear – this made her bear ultra special and fun – after all she is going home with a bear full of love from very special peers! Bears were stuffed, games were played and hearts with loved were sewn shut in each girl’s little friend. Upon completion of the stiching of each bear, the girls took turns bathing their bear and then the best part – picking out a new outfits and/or accessories to provide personality and individuality to their bear! What a SWEET process!

doc-dvd

Doc McStuffins Theme:

  • We were lucky enough to get Doc McStuffins DVDs to share with our friends (Doc McStuffins: Time for Your Checkup MSRP $19.99, reduced to $14.99 on Amazon)
  • Also look for coupons or possible Groupon, Eversave or Mamasource Deals for saving on Band-Aids. I got bulk Band-Aids using a Mamsource/Mamapedia Deal. What better way than to take care of your stuffed animal boo-boo than with a sticker of love!
  • Utilize FREE Doc McStuffins printables for Invitations, Thank You Notes, Doctor Kit Printable Tools and Coloring Sheets. I did not have to pay for invitations for this party!

Keep the Party Cost Down:

  • Have a Bear-y Special Party with your little one, but keep the cost down by inviting close friends instead of the whole class. For my daughter’s preschool class, we only invited the girls.  Prices start at $10 per child and go up to $20 per child. If a parent/child wants something additional, they can buy at at the end of the party or purchase a gift card to give you toward the party total.
  • Do not host the party during a major meal ( For example, don’t plan the party in the middle of lunch hour where you might be expected to provide meals.)
  • Check with cake shops in your mall or Build-A-Bear location. Perhaps they offer discounts on cakes for those who purchased Build-A-Bear Parties. We picked up ours from The American Cookie Company and got a small savings off our total purchase.
  • As I did above, Google Search FREE printable invitations. I got my FREE invites from Disney Online.

Head to Build-A-Bear Workshop to learn more about Birthday Parties for your family! Be sure to also check out the My Little Pony or Hello Kitty Collection making a big splash this spring/summer season!

Kick Up Your Easter Brunch with Proscuitto-Gruyere Puffs and Filled Easter Basket Cookies

crescent roll finished product

Last week I shared with you two recipes for this time of year that just scream Spring: Proscuitto-Gruyere Puffs, which I had made before and are amazing, and Filled Easter Basket Cookies, which I now know are completely delightful!

crescent roll ingredients

First up: The Proscuitto-Gruyere Puffs, recipe adapted from Joy the Baker.  To save money, go to the deli counter for your proscuitto and cheese.  Ask for  8 slices of proscuitto  – that’s all you need and it only cost me $2.40.  Then ask for a quarter pound of gruyere cheese sliced almost paper thin (instead of shredding it).  This makes it easy to roll still and costs less than getting a chunk to shred.  That cost me about $2.50!

crescent rolls process

First, grab the Crescent Roll Dough from the refrigerator.  Fresh out of the refrigerator is best.  Dust parchment paper with flour and then put the dough down to roll it out and press seams together.  Then dust more flour on top and roll it out to about 9″x11″.

Once roll to desired size, layer with 8 slices of Proscuitto, followed by the mustard, cheese and then black pepper.  I added green onions this time because I had them, they’re good on just about everything savory and it added some spring color!

Then, roll each side into the center until both sides touch – rolling from the long side. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of this one!

crescent roll ready to bake

Once rolled together, the dough will be a little too pliable and may tear when you cut it, so put it back in the refrigerator with some saran wrap on top (on a baking sheet).  Leave it for about 15-20 minutes and then take it out and cut into half-inch slices.

Lay it out on your parchment-lined baking sheet and brush each piece with melted butter to make it a little more golden and give it a rich taste.

Put it in a 400 degree oven for about 12-15 minutes.

crescent roll finished product

Let cool SLIGHTLY and enjoy!  I could seriously eat these all day – they are perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime!  They are best warm but still good the next day.

cupcake ingredients

Next up were the Filled Easter Basket Cookies, recipe adapted from Oh Nuts!  I chose the Pastel Twizzlers and the easy-squeeze Betty Crocker Cupcake Icing in green.  Missing from the picture above is the dough!  I used Publix’s Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.  I also used Mini Robin Eggs by Whoppers but I think I would use miniature jelly beans next time for easier eating; but the kids loved them all the same!

girls holding cupcakes

First, pull out a normal-size muffin tin and spray lightly with cooking spray.  Then, unwrap the cookie dough and, using a spoon, scoop off about two tablespoons of dough and roll into a ball.  Then roll in sprinkles if you are using them and place into the muffin tin, pressing slightly in the middle to form an indentation.

cupcakes with handles

Once out of the oven, press your Twizzler ropes into the ‘baskets’.  I found the pastel colors in Target and didn’t need to cut them at all.  If you go for something longer, then cut it into 3 to 3 1/2″ lengths.  Let cool for a while before adding the icing.

cupcake icing

Once they’ve cooled almost completely, take them out of the muffin tin and ice and then top with the green-colored coconut and finally your jelly beans or whoppers.  Then, eat and enjoy!
