Making Edible Fake Blood is easier than you think – only two ingredients. Pour your bloody drizzle on our homemade cupcakes for the perfect Halloween Food Craft.

Edible Fake Blood Cupcakes

We love when the fall season hits – Halloween,Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are kicking off our Halloween ideas with our Edible Fake Blood Cupcakes Recipe. This fits perfectly with our Halloween Food Crafts for the Kids. Be sure to pair this sweet recipe with our salty and tasty Halloween Jalapeño Popper Mummies.

We supplied a homemade vanilla cupcake recipe, but you can use a box mix or you could pick up cupcakes from your local bakery. Just ask them not to ice the cupcakes. Sometimes I do that when I don’t have time for all the steps (aka baking the cupcakes) but I still want to personalize, home make cupcakes. No one ever knows (well they do, because I tell them. They find it as genius as I do!)

This cupcake recipe also goes perfectly with our trailer park murder mystery party!

Cupcake Ingredients:

  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 container of your favorite white frosting

Edible Blood Ingredients

  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • 10-20 drops red gel food coloring
  • optional: edible knives/meat cleavers

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over. A binder keeps me organized and gives me a place to store my recipes.

Edible blood is so easy to make. Only two ingredients – corn syrup and red gel food coloring. You could add some flavoring like vanilla or cherry, but be sure to not change the thick consistency the corn syrup provides. Drizzle over the cupcakes until you get the right look. You could also pickup these edible knives (meat cleavers) for spooky cupcake decor.

Hosting an October gathering? This Halloween Poison Apple Dip makes the perfect party recipe. Only four simple ingredients including cream cheese and caramel. Plus learn how to make our Poison Apple Halloween Food Craft to display on your table.

Halloween Poison Apple Dip

We have an incredibly cute and easy Halloween Food Craft and plus a bonus Halloween Craft for your October Halloween tablescape. Pair this sweet recipe with our salty and tasty Halloween Jalapeño Popper Mummies.

Halloween Poison Apple History

The first rotten apple we know of comes from the Bible. It was never rotten but rather an attractive piece of fruit. When Adam and Eve ate the apple from the Tree of Knowledge, they were instantly aware of good and evil. Immediately the apple built a bad reputation and it becomes a fruit often selected for the symbolism of evil.

We are introduced to the Poisoned Apple in the fairy tale, Snow White. When the Evil Queen gives Snow White a poison apple to kill her, it immediately causes her fall into an eternal sleep.  In the Disney version, Snow White is saved by “true loves kiss” when a prince kisses her causing her to wake.

To carry on the tradition of this the poison apple, we put together a fun Halloween Food Craft; an incredibly easy poison apple craft and poison apple dip.

Cream Cheese & Caramel Apple Dip Ingredients

Cream Cheese & Caramel Apple Dip Ingredients

Luckily, the ingredients in this recipe contain no poison. The thought sure is fun, though, for the Holiday season. Rather this recipe is quite sweet and so good with sliced apples or graham crackers.

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 13.5 oz caramel sauce
  • sliced red and green apples
  • optional: graham crackers

Halloween Poison Apple Craft

Poison Apple Halloween Craft Supplies

  • Green apples
  • Red apples
  • Colored staples

Poison Apple Halloween Craft Directions

Guys, I don’t have much for you. This poison apple craft is incredibly easy. You could look at the picture and instantly create the craft.

First, get two apples of similar shape and sizes. Cut each apple in half and fit them together.

Second, grab colored tables. We used blue staples but you could also use other colored staples, traditional silver staples or gold staples.  Separate individual staples.

With your apple lined up, you will press individual staples until your green and red apple holding them two halves together and forming one apple. Continue this process up the seam of the apple.

Once your apple holds nicely together, you are done.

Warning: Do not use this craft for consumption or eating. Display it on your tablescape or high up for Halloween decor but keep it away from small hands and little kids.

Have company coming over this Easter season? How about adding Peter Cottontail to your bathroom as a fun display. Place in baksets around the home or add something cute to a child’s bedroom. You will love this easy step-by-step TP Easter Bunny Craft!

Supplies

  • 1 Roll Of Toilet Paper
  • 2 Sheets White Tissue Paper
  • 1 Sheet White Construction Paper
  • 1 Sheet Pink Construction Paper
  • 1 Black Marker
  • 2 Plastic Eyes (Dollar Tree as a whole bag for $1)
  • Hot Glue
  • 3 Cotton Balls

toilet-paper-bunny-collage-frugal-coupon-living

Directions

  1. Lay the two sheets of tissue paper flat on the table. One on top of the other.
  2. Set the roll of toilet paper in the center of the tissue paper with one hole at the top. Carefully tuck the ends of the tissue paper into the hole. Slowly work your way all the way around, until all the tissue paper is tucked in your bunny’s body.
  3. Now take your cotton balls and slightly pull them apart, so that they are nice and fluffy. Add three small dots of hot glue around the hole with all the tucked in tissue paper. Place the cotton balls on all three dots. This should now be covering the opening and creating the tail for the bunny.
  4. On the other end glue the plastic eyes about a half inch down form the edge of the roll.
  5. Cut out a few strips of white construction paper to make whiskers. Also cut out a oval shape nose from the pink constriction paper. Hot glue these at the center of the hole. Even with the opening being covered you will be able to slightly see it. Add a dot of hot glue and then lay the whiskers down first and then the nose.
  6. Take your black marker and draw a line under the nose making a J facing both ways.
  7. Last we need to make the ears. This can be a bit trickier and you can do it differnet that I have.
  8. Take the white construction paper and fold it in half. Then cut out a long oval shape that is flat at one end. By having your paper folded you sould end up with two ears after cutting. Fold them so that there is a cress down the center lenght ways. Now at the end of a slit about an in long. Then add a fold at the top of that slit. Fold the two pieces over. Then fold a fold at the top of that slit. Fold the two slit pices over each other, making somehting similar to the corner of a box. Tuck the ends of those pices up and down to lock them in place.
  9. Now on the top of the roll just above the eyes, glue an ear. Make sure that the boxed edge we made is facing the oppostie side of the eyes so you cannot see them when looking at the face.
  10. After they are glued in place carefully bend them over and glue them to the back end with a small dot of hot glue.

Ladies – if you love to have themed shirts to wear for holidays, we have some great Halloween shirts for women that you’ll love. Looking for shirts for the kids? We have Halloween shirts for girls and Halloween shirts for boys for you, too!

This Happy Halloween Pumpkin Baseball T-Shirt is super cute. I love the stripes on the sleeves and the pumpkin face on the front of the shirt. This is one I’d wear a lot with jeans and Converse for a cute and casual look.

Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite Halloween movies, so I’m loving this Bunch of Hocus Pocus Shirt. It’s such a fun saying for this time of year. I may wear this for trick or treating!

How fun is this Frequent Flyer Tee? This is another one I would wear a lot during October because it totally cracks me up. I bet you’ll get a lot of compliments on this one!

Calling all Starbucks fans – this Basic Witch Tee is a fun Halloween take on the Starbucks logo tee. This is one of my favorite tees that I’ve seen so far this year.

If you live in the South, you definitely need this It’s Fall Y’all Tee in your life. This is one I see a lot, and you can wear it all fall – not just around Halloween.

These Jack O’ Lantern Tees are so neat because you can pick either a black Jack O’ Lantern face or you can have it printed in plaid! I think the plaid looks fabulous. You can also pick your own custom colors if you want.
