UPS made a delivery and left the pkg in front of my garage. They left a msg say ok mg they left was on front door steps. I did not know. I back out garage and ran over package, totally destroyed the content. No attempt was made to deliver to resident and I was home at the time of the delivery. Poor service practice.

I once ordered all of my daughters birthday decor and presents on ebay and had shipped not remembering I had moved and not changed the address on my ebay acct. Luckily my parents live near my old house and were planning on attending party. The new owner of house had opened all my stuff but kindly did give it to my dad when he knocked on their door.

I needed money, so I decided to sell an old pedal tractor I had on Ebay. The auction was a success, but the seller was out of state. He wanted it shipped with a delivery he was getting from our state- We had to rush around, deliver it to a town 2 hours away, to an old grumpy man that did not want to participate. It finally worked out, and the buyer still paid the shipping costs.

My shipping nightmare happened two months ago: I ordered a big box of Huggies through Amazon and was expecting it to arrive within two days….it didn’t. Instead, I got an email from Amazon that the shipper (OnTrac) had scanned the package as undeliverable and returned it to sender. I was beyond pissed because not only was I out of diapers but I also had to go to my local Walmart to buy some more diapers. The craziest part was that I had ordered baby wipes a day prior to placing this order and Ontrac delivered THAT the very same day that they returned my other package. Smh. Horrible experience and horrible service trying to follow up w/ them.

My shipping nightmare occurred this year. I ordered my husband THE tablet for Christmas, to be delivered to my parents’ house–I won’t have to hide it, and we are going to be there for Christmas. The OTHER big shipment company called them to let them know that there was a delivery requiring signature; my dad planned on calling back the next day to arrange delivery (or pickup at their facility). The next morning he found said package on a hidden part of their porch.

They didn’t provide a signature, and the temperatures dropped below freezing that night. I am hoping that the big surprise that I socked money away for (I’m a student) actually works Christmas morning.
This happened this week, so I am in the midst of calling everyone involved (the vendor, the shipper, and the credit card company) to find out how things went awry and what will be done if it does not work.

I once had an Amazon package get put on the wrong truck, and when it was taken back to the warehouse it was processed as a return instead of coming to me. I don’t live terribly far from the warehouse and my package showed up as “delivered” to an address that wasn’t mine, and signed for by a name I did not know! It took me awhile to realize it was Amazon’s address! It all worked out in the end, but it was a crazy hour or two trying to get it sorted out.

I’ve never been permanently scarred by shipping troubles with FedEx or UPS. My shipping nightmares are always courtesy of USPS. They have lost numerous packages and they never were returned. I’ve also literally had a piece of mail arrive more than a month after it was sent, though posted and addressed properly for first-class mail. It seems the only way to “keep them honest” lately is to pay extra for delivery confirmation (even if not priority mail), or priority.

My biggest shipping disappointment was when we had moved to China for an overseas job assignment. My former book group members each brought a book to make a Christmas care package for me because English language books are hard to come by in China. I never received it and never even knew they sent it til I came back for a visit the next year and they finally asked me about it – they had been wondering why I didn’t thank them. Would have loved to get those books and wonder where they are now!

I won’t call it a nightmare, but I had a very difficult experience with F-dEx. Missed a package on Monday, so Tuesday, I made sure I would be home. I sat by the front door (no joking) waiting for my package from 4-6 pm. I got up every time I heard a vehicle. Nothing. Kept refreshing status, and it still said out for delivery. At 6pm, I hit refresh, only to see the status now saying failed attempt at 5:39. Failed? There was no door tag, no knock, no ring of the doorbell. Very angry that it was put on me, when the driver obviously did NOT make an attempt.

My shipping nightmare happened when my dad sent a birthday gift from Alaska to my home in Arizona for my son. We kept missing the delivery because the driver would come when I was out picking my son up from school. I left the driver a note on the 3rd day letting him know the time I left and that id be back in ten minutes, but I guess he got tired of trying and left it at our door. When I pulled into my driveway after picking my son up at school, I found another neighborhood kid with the package in his hand, he mustve seen it from the sidewalk and thought he could take it!! Had I not come home when I did, my sons gift wouldve been gone! :(
