Walgreens Coupons Issues

A few of you have written telling me that your Walgreens would not let you combine the IVC (Instant Value Coupon in the Easy Saver Catalog) and a MFR coupon. I did call Walgreens this morning and asked them this vary question. The lady I spoke with informed me that this was not correct and you CAN combine both. When you run into this trouble again, ask for a manager. Sometimes when I know I am using multiple coupons that can be a bit confusing to the cashier, I just ask for the manager to ring me up…especially if there is a long line in the only register open. I do not want to make people wait on ALL my coupons.

There is a rumor that Walgreens will be ending their ESR program. Awhile back there was talk about Walgreens having some kind of card system like CVS. Thanks to I Heart Wags for the info on this one.

As somone who LOVES Walgreens (more than the other pharmacies I know of) this does not excite me. I know many of you appreciate having ECBs (CVS money) that you can use right away vs having a gift card that must load with new rebate money (Walgreens way.) I, however, appreciate the 10% back and the gift card that doesn’t expire….I personally hope this is only a rumor….Thoughts, anyone? I would love to know them.

Sign up Here for a $3 off on Ben & Jerry’s icecream. I am ashamed to say that my household can eat a pint of this icecream in one sitting. I would not recommend it, though. I have read that next week this icecream is on sale 2/$6 at Walgreens, so hold you coupons until then!

I guess when you shop at your favorite corner store, Walgreens, twice a week you are bound to grow close to their employees. Today I found out my favorite manager was no longer working there. His employee informed me there wasn’t a dry eye in the store when he had to leave. (My eyes weren’t dry when she was telling me this.) This kind and gentle man LOVED my daughter and always asked about me and my family (and visa versa.) I learned about the birth of his newborn granddaughter and could even recite to you his plans for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. What I appreciated most about this man was that I didn’t feel like a criminal every time I came in his store. He welcomed me, my daughter, and my coupons. I will miss you, Mr. C.

PS Mr. C, I spent $37 today after my coupons (my blog readers, don’t worry, I haven’t gone insane, I am getting back $30 in rebates.)
