In keeping with giving you ideas to help you get the year off right, why not finally get the kids on doing chores?  From what I’ve read, 3 years old seems to be a pretty good age to start assigning chores.  Obviously they should be age appropriate, though!  A three-year old could have chores that you maybe assist them with a little, like getting themselves dressed, brushing teeth, cleaning their room or feeding the pets.  You could also put having a cheerful attitude on the chore chart if that’s something you’re struggling with or having a cheerful attitude while doing the chores listed above – not pouting when they’re told it’s time to get dressed, etc.

We have not started chores quite yet as my oldest is not quite three; but my friend put together her own chart that she updates from time to time as her children grow or ‘master’ certain chores.  It is a word document using a table and clip art to represent the chore along with the days of the week.  She prints it and gets it laminated at FedEx/Kinkos (or anywhere else that does laminating), punches a couple of holes in the top for a ribbon loop and hangs it on the bulletin board.  Using a dry-erase marker, she then checks off chores as they’re completed each day!

Download this chart and modify for your home!

Note: In Word, to modify the border, click Page Layout and then Page Borders.  To modify the name, click Insert, then Header, then Edit Header.

There are two new $2 Splenda coupons at Target:
$2 off 80 packets or more and $2 off loose Splenda.

I believe the 80 ct. boxes are usually around $2.60 or so, so you will get those for just $.60 each at Target, Walmart and some grocery stores.

Or use them toward this week’s Publix Deals:

Splenda No Calorie Sweetener – 200 ct box or 9.7 oz $4.99
$2 printable
= $2.99 each

and Walgreens Deals:

Splenda No Calorie Sweetener – 100 ct. box $2.99
$2 printable
= $.99 each
