Confession Number 113 – I used to iron my hair with a clothes iron.

I have very coarse hair – Half Cuban and half Italian, my hair twists and turns, and loves to frizz at the slightest hint of humidity.  In college, my roommate would iron my hair with a clothes iron. I was amazed with how flat my hair would get, but all the while I was killing my hair – basically I was producing flat, dead hair! Knowing when I got married, my husband wasn’t going to take on this task (despite his vows for better or for worse) I began the cycle of trying every hair iron on the market…and was still searching.

I was thrilled when a precious little package arrived at my door. I was able to try the Hana Professional Flat Iron 1″ from Misikko. Holy Cow I was sold – it is the best flat iron yet!  Besides the Hana, Misikko has many hair straighteners available in different sizes, colors and prices.

Also in my beloved box was something really unique – a personal $50 blank check! When I opened up an envelope, I was touched by its purpose. I was able to make this check out to ANYONE I wanted.     I had no idea there were so many choices of flat irons! The Hana Elite flatiron looks interesting as well, with 100% ceramic plates. I love the idea of ironing my hair while still damp, and skipping the dreaded blow-drying!

    I would love to try the flat iron. I used to use a defuser on my hair and it was better then nothing but not great…this sounds like it would work wonders!

    What a great find! Especially if it does not burn your hair, or make it smell like you have, even an hour later! I have a flat iron that does that-but I have a NEED to use it. In school I was teased very badly for frizzy, wavy and out of control hair (and not to mention bushy eyebrows too! LOL! Those are taken care of ;) This looks like a great product! The Hana and the Corioliss Zebra Flat Iron – Profix 1″! Love that one too! Also, I was intrigued by the Model in the Bottle, if it would keep frizz and fly-a-ways down…that also looks like a great product!! :)

    I would love to try their X5 Superlite Tourmaline Travel Hair Dryer. The hairdryers at hotels are just too small for my hair.

    I recieve news feeds from FCL and follow on FB. I too used to iron my hair with a clothes iron. I am Italian & greek and my hair frizzes the second I walk out the door in the rain or heat. I love this flat iron, its the perfect size to handle!

    I love the black and blue colors of the Hana Professional, they are so cute. It also says that it has safe damp to dry styling– I always feel so weird when I am straightening damp hair–now I don’t have to feel like I am damaging my hair.

    I liked the look of the CHI Turbo Digital Ceramic Spring Curling Iron 1″… I have EXTREMELY curly hair and while I sometimes like to straighten, it is a bit more practical to go with curls day to day…. :)

    I feel you pain, I have very thick, coarse unruly hair and have yet to fine the one styling tool that makes me want to dance.     On Misikko.com, I think the CHI Auto Digital Ceramic Waver would be a great product. I have naturally thick, wavy hair and rather than always flat ironing my hair, it would be great to have something to add consistent waves.

    The best ‘product’ I saw on the website was the service of helping me find just the right flat iron. I have naturally curly/frizzy hair but have always felt very uncomfortable making a large dollar purchase without knowing what to get. We recenetly adopted a 16 year old daughter whose hand-me-down flat iron fizzled and now she really wants one. I’m going to have to use that great service to figure out what we need.     Of course the flattening iron looks great – but I took a look at their website and was excited to see a ceramic curling iron. I’ve always wanted to use one but the ones from when I was in highs chool were so bad for your hair. This might be the answer!

    If I didn’t have 2 kids to feed and a house payment I would replace my flat iron. I used to have the corioliss but it broke about a year ago and I haven’t been able to replace it :( Oh well, it’s ok to go without.     The Hana Flat iron would be wonderful. My flat iron is litterally a curling iron that becomes detached and you attach a hot iron. It doesn’t do the trick on my hair too well. Thanks for the giveaway!
