This giveaway is closed. Congratulations goes to Jessica.

First Kid, Second Kid – How have you changed from your first kid to your second kid? Whether is was comfort with taking care of a cold, the type of diapers you used, or picking up a pacifier on the floor chances are we all handle something differently with our second child!

Right now Luvs Diapers has a fun “First Kid/Second Kid” promotion going on. Moms learn so much from the first child, that the actions we take with our second tend to be different. Both my children had pacifiers and while first I promised I would never give my children a pacifier, they took to it and I used it. With the second, I also would casually wipe off the pacifier before placing it back in her mouth.

Be sure to also head over to Amazon to check out the new Luvs Coupon!! This makes diapers as low as $.10 per diaper (starting at size 1). Make sure you are logged into your Amazon account, clip the coupon and add it to your cart using Subscribe & Save!

What are you doing different from Kid One to Kid Two?

To Win: Win 4 Luvs Jmbo Diapers Packs (in size 4, retails for $8-$11 each pack with approx .31 diapers/pack)

To Enter:

You can enter up to four times – that would mean, leave one to four comments. You do not have to enter more than once but you DO have to complete the first entry to enter with choices two through four.

1.) What did you do different with your first kid verses your second kid?

Would you like to save this?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

Additional Optional Entries:

2.) Sign up for Frugal Coupon Living Emails. You must confirm your subscription!

I’m working with Luvs Diapers who, knowing that many moms do things differently the second time around, have developed a series of “First Kid/Second Kid” online videos comparing the way many parents were with their first kid and how things changed with their second child

3.) Share on Facebook. While there, be sure to like Frugal Coupon Living. Leave a message below telling me that you did.

This giveaway ends on Tuesday, October 9 at 3 PM EST. The winner will be contacted via email and will have 48 hours to respond. If I do not hear from the winner by that time, a new winner will be selected. It is open to US residents only. No PO Boxes for prize shipping.

Please Note: Email entries will not be accepted. If you are reading this giveaway in a reader or in your inbox, please select the post to direct yourself over to the site. Due to time constraints, I am not able to enter email, Twitter, or Facebook entries on my own. Thanks!

My 1st child I had on a strict schedule. Every 3 hours she would have her bottle, she had a certain nap time. My 2nd child my ways of doing things with the 1st went out the window. I guess since i was more comfortable and experienced, I just knew when he was hungry, tired etc. You live and you learn!

  39. lissa says

    October 4, 2012 at 9:30 AM

I nursed my first born for 19 months- and he still wasn’t ready to wean! With my twins, I pumped for four months and had to supplement with formula from the beginning.

  43. Lexie H. says

    October 4, 2012 at 9:49 AM

I would say I treated the children the same, but I did nurse my second child until she was 2 years verses the first until she was 9.5 months.

  44. Dana Edwards says

    October 4, 2012 at 10:02 AM

Everything! lol I didn’t want the first one to get dirty. I wanted a “perfect” picture of a family. House spotless, child spotless, husband and wife dressed to kill. I wanted him to do everything faster and better than the other kids. It was ridiculous! ;) Now I have 4, my house is always a wreck, I can’t afford to dress to kill, husband is always in jeans and a t-shirt, and they will hit all their milestones when they are ready. They outnumber me like crazy….I’m lucky to get a shower most days! And we are still “perfect”, even if we won’t be on the cover of Parents magazine anytime soon….or well, EVER!

  45. Melody Hudson says

    October 4, 2012 at 10:07 AM

For me my first kid I had to cater to every whim and whimper, just had to see what was going on with her every minute. My second. third and now fourth kid…well I think I’ve got the cries and whines down to almost a science and things are more by schedule than on demand. Lol.

  46. Jessica says

    October 4, 2012 at 10:39 AM

I just subscribed to your emails!

With my first one you thoroughly clean and sanitize everything that they touch. With the second child the ‘five second rule’ becomes a way of life. Also, since I have an older child my second one did much more at an earlier age. Walking, crawling, turning the car seat around was a battle I fought for a long time.

  54. Lisa says

With my second child I made more of my own baby food and used disposable diapers totally. My first one I used both cloth and disposables. I was more relaxed and did not come unglued if the pacifier hit the car seat, five second rule applied to most things depending on where they were dropped.

With my second child, anyone that wants to hold her, I just pass her over, without a second thought, no washing their hands or using anti-bac, “here you go”!!!

  62. Tracie says

    October 6, 2012 at 2:54 PM

    I shared on Facebook.
With my first I was able to devote all of my time and attention to him. His pacifier was always clean. I read all the baby books. Then when number two came we did not even do a pacifier. I started changing my thoughts on parenting. I decided that everything I needed to know was not in a book. I learned from my first! Even now I am learning from my first what not to do with my second(third, fourth and fifth!). However my first gets lots of great advantages since he is my oldest. He gets to do a lot of firsts that my others do not get the chance to experience!

  63. Mandy Stucke says

    October 6, 2012 at 3:17 PM

I seem to be opposite, I was calm with the first but more stressed after the second came.

  64. sarah says

    October 6, 2012 at 3:26 PM

I rinsed stuff off that fell on the floor more for my first than my second. I panicked more often with her, too. Now I’m a seasoned veteran mother and my third kid is doing okay. :)

  65. katy anderson says

    October 6, 2012 at 4:35 PM

kendall is my fifth so i’m really comfortable with him. with my first child i worried over EVERYTHING! when you get to number five you realize that babies are more resiliant than you thought with the first one.

  66. Misty Massie says

    October 6, 2012 at 7:46 PM

I did everything different! The biggest thing, is that I started my second child out sleeping OUT of my bed rather with me from the first day. Well, maybe the second day ;) Such a huge difference it made in the first year its probably the only reason i still have my sanity.

  67. Stefanie says

    October 6, 2012 at 9:25 PM

With my first I jumped on getting his college fund started and added to it a few times; the 2nd came along 2 years later and we still haven’t set up his college fund (he’s 16 months!) Now number 3 is on the way so we’ll need to get #2 and #3’s funds going…

  68. Stephanie C says

    October 7, 2012 at 12:38 PM

Instead of buying new, expensive things with the first that I thought I HAD to have, I got a lot of things from yard sales for the second. Babies grow out of clothes, toys and everything else so fast it’s not worth all that money when they use it for 3 months.

I didn’t make my first born try any foods he didn’t want to try, and gave him candy/sweets when he was barely 1. With the second, we held off sweets/treats til he was 2, and he eats a variety of things now. My oldest (11) is still super picky, and my 9 year old (2nd) eats anything. We also have 3 younger children, 2 of whom are still in diapers. We followed the same concept with the last 3 kiddos as we did with child #2. :-)
