Do-Si-Dos Smoothie

If you are a lover of Girl Scout Cookies, and Do Si Do’s in particular you will love this healthier and protein packed alternative to downing half a box of cookies! Have it for breakfast. a pre workout snack, or as your dessert! Peanut butter, vanilla, and a hint of chocolate combine to create a creamy, delicious cookie flavor favorite, the Do-Si-Do’s. Need a little something to sweeten the deal? Skip the processed white sugar and use some honey.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of Almond Milk
  • 1 scoop Juice Plus+ Complete French Vanilla Powder
  •  frozen cubes plain Greek Yogurt*
  • 1 Tbsp. creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 ½ tsp. cocoa powder
  • optional: honey

Directions:

Place all ingredients in blender and mix until smooth and creamy. If desired add honey a tsp. at a time to sweeten. Serve in a frosted glass.

*I like to use frozen yogurt in place of ice to create my smoothies this will keep your drink from getting watered down and losing flavor. Fill ice cube trays with yogurt and pop in freezer, once frozen transfer to a zip top freezer bag. Use a sharpie to write yogurt and the date. These can be used as a base for any flavor!

Healthy Tips: This recipe is for a serving. Multiply as needed! These are all done easily in the blender.  Almond milk can be replaced with any kind of milk, including soy, coconut or rice milk.

Directions:

  1. Make cupcakes according to box directions
  2. After baking move to wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Poke holes in each cupcake
  4. Mix Jello and boiling water stir until dissolved.
  5. Add 1/2 cup cold water and pour over cupcakes.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  7. In a large bowl, cream the butter.
  8. Beat in the milk mixing until fluffy.
  9. Transfer 1/4 of the icing to the corner of medium size zipper bag, try to minimize trapped air and close. Clip a small piece off the corner to pipe. Set aside.
  10. Add several drops of green food coloring to remaining icing and mix until color is blended.
  11. Transfer icing to the corner of large size zipper bag. Clip a small piece off the corner to pipe.
  12. Cut each strip of the airheads into 2 1/2 – 3 inch lengths.
  13. Ice the top of each cupcake with green icing.
  14. Pipe a white cloud on each side of the green and insert the airheads strip between them to make a rainbow.

Enjoy and shall I say, Good Luck?!?

What could be more festive for Valentine’s Day than hearts and glitter? These little jars are perfect for a dining table to illuminate a romantic dinner or to dress up your mantle with candlelight. Why not set a few out on your front porch to light up a path to your home. They would also be a precious gift filled with chocolates, your favorite candy or maybe a pedicure kit!

Materials:

  • 2 empty mason jars
  • 2 vinyl heart stickers
  • Extra fine pink glitter
  • Mod podge
  • Foam paint brush
  • 2 battery operated flameless candles
  • Optional: colorful string or ribbon

Directions:

  1. Place your heart stickers onto the center of your mason jars
  2. Using your foam paint brush, paint your glass jars with mod podge
  3. Pour glitter on a piece of paper and roll your pod podge covered glass jar on the glitter
  4. Sprinkle the glitter (over a garbage can of course) onto the parts of your glass jar that got missed
  5. Tie a colorful strand of string or ribbon around the top of your jars
  6. Turn on your flameless candles and place them into the jars and watch them glow

Easy-peasy.

Superfood Green Smoothie with Protein Option

My morning routine is going to the gym and following up with a trip to Tropical Smoothie. One of my favorite drinks is their Island Green. I love knowing I am getting the nutrients of greens paired with the sweet taste of pineapple. Tired of spending $6 over and over, I decide to take this Superfood Green Smoothie home and added a touch of protein to help with my after workout body.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Frozen Kale
  • 1/3 cup Frozen Spinach
  • 1 cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 ½ cup Coconut Water
  • 1/3 to ½ Ripe Avocado
  • Dash Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • Optional: 1 scoop Juice Plus+ Complete French Vanilla Powder

Directions:

Place all ingredients in blender and mix until smooth and creamy. If desired add honey a tsp. at a time to sweeten. Pour into glass. Garnish with pineapple, spinach, and a pinch of ground cayenne pepper. Serve immediately or seal and store in refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

Healthy Tips: This recipe is for a serving. Multiply as needed! These are all done easily in the blender.  Almond milk can be replaced with any kind of milk, including soy, coconut or rice milk.

Total: 10 minutes
Servings: 16 oz.
