M&M Easter Poem + Printable Easter Gift Tag

Easter Sunday is a time to rejoice Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Three days after he was buried, he ascended from his tomb and raise into Heaven. We celebrate knowing that He still lives and he is the way!

Our M&M Easter Poem is a reminder of Jesus’ journey, and it’s one to share with others with a thoughtful gift. Simply tie it to a small mason jar filled with festive M&Ms and give as Sunday School gifts, to neighbors, teachers, friends, co-workers, mail carriers, beauticians, or hostesses!

M&M Easter Poem

The cute pastel Easter gift tag comes with a thoughtful poem. It reads…

E is for Easter Sunday, reminding us that our Savior lives,

M is for the Miracles and mercy that Jesus gives.

3 is for the reminder that Christ rose on the third day.

W is for the message that He is the only way.

If you are planning a unicorn birthday party, you’ll want to learn more about this delicious recipe we are sharing today. In the past, we have posted about Unicorn Party Favors which were a hit to make. When you are have a theme for the party, it’s always cute to have coordinating food, favors, games and decor.

It’s really easy to whip up this strawberry cake mix recipe just before the party guests arrive. You could make it a little ahead of time too, and store it in the fridge until everyone is ready to eat.

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt to Teach Toddlers Their Colors

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

February 14, 2021 by Kecia Hambrick Filed Under: Facebook, Instagram, Kids, Parenting, Pinterest, Printable, Social Media Leave a Comment

This rainbow scavenger hunt will help you toddlers learn to identify colors and keep them entertained! Download many free scavenger hunt ideas for kids, preschoolers, and more.

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt to Teach Toddlers Their Colors

Recognizing colors is an important skill that kids can learn as early as 2 or 3 years old. It’s typically one of the first things parents teach their children, along with shapes and letters. Colors will be taught in preschool and kindergarten, but you can start exposing your child to the names of colors long before they head off to class.

One of the easiest ways to help your children identify colors and know color names is by pointing them out in their environment. When you go to the park, mention how green the grass is, or how white the puffy clouds are in the sky. Point out a blue or red car. If you take your child grocery shopping, they can find a number of different colors just within the produce aisle.

Learning opportunities are really all around us every single day!

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt – Teaching Toddlers Their Colors

A great indoor scavenger hunt that we have put together involves finding the colors of the rainbow inside your home. This is the perfect activity for a rainy day when it’s too miserable to play outside. You will still want to entertain your toddler, and with this free printable scavenger hunt, they learn while having fun!

Print the scavenger hunt when you are ready to play with your toddler. You can leave it as a full sheet or cut it up into cards to make them smaller for your little one’s hands. Read and follow the directions on each card to have your child roaming around the house looking for colors!

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt Printable Game - Scavenger Hunt Ideas for Kids

The following instructions are on this free rainbow scavenger hunt:

  • Find something in your bedroom that is red
  • Something in the toy box that is orange
  • Find something in the kitchen that is yellow
  • Something outside that is green
  • Find something in your closet that is blue
  • Something on a shelf that is purple
  • Find something in a drawer that is pink
  • Something on the floor that is brown
  • Find something in the living room that is black
  • Something in the bathroom that is white

Making this Scavenger Hunt Printable More Fun

Each time you play this game with your toddler, encourage them to find new things that are the color you are looking for. You can also mix it up, such as finding something in the toy box that is blue and something in the closet that’s orange. This keeps the game fresh so they are always learning new places to find their colors.

The more exposure you give them to color names, the faster they will catch on!

It won’t be long before your little one will be able to tell you the colors of things: balls, cars, food, etc. And if you ever want to give rewards, try giving them an M&M of the right color once they find it in the game!

100 Things to Do Family Bucket List printable PDF. This printable bucket list template makes it easy for your family to plan fun activities to do together!

Printable Bucket List Template PDF

Printable Bucket List Template

Download and print this bucket list for families so you can get started with your plans. You can choose to use this for a holiday, vacation, summer break, or anytime you want to do something fun.

This bucket list template is pretty self explanatory. You simply fill it in with 100 things you would like to do together as a family. There are boxes beside each task. Keep track by checking each item off as you do them.

The great thing is you can print off as many as you need to make different bucket lists, depending on your family’s activities. It’s a great way to categorize your goals and experiences!

Bucket List Ideas

There are SO many bucket list ideas you can add to your template, depending on how your family decides to do it. For a general bucket list for your family, think about things you all want to do together. Work together to come up with your bucket list, as this is a family activity!

Your lists could be to track your goals, such as:

  • Read 50 books
  • Visit 10 states
  • Walk 100 miles together
  • Try 20 new recipes this year
  • Try 2 new hobbies
  • Attend 5 sporting events
  • Go to 3 new museums

The list can have ideas that are ongoing (such as the numbered tasks above) or one time things, especially if you are going somewhere. Things like:

  • Photograph a statue
  • Eat at a new restaurant
  • Pick sunflowers
  • Ride bikes at the park
  • Buy a holiday ornament from another state

More Specific Bucket Lists

Some bucket lists are designed around a particular holiday, such as Christmas or Independence Day. The items on the list are usually centered around the holiday, such as baking Christmas cookies or watching a particular Christmas movie. For Independence Day, tasks may include eating a hot dog or watching fireworks.

If you decide to use your bucket list template while on vacation, think about your destination. If you are headed to the beach, you may include ideas of things to do while there like swim in the ocean or collect seashells. A mountain getaway bucket list could include things like taking a hike or bird watching.

No matter how you complete your bucket list template, have fun! The point is for your family to come together and work with each other to accomplish the complete list. You’ll have new memories to look back on as you finish each list you create.

January 16, 2021 by Kecia Hambrick Filed Under: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Recipe, Social Media 2 Comments

This easy simple charcuterie board snacks in a jar is a spin on the traditional charcuterie boards. It’s much easier, in our opinion! Great for the beginner, add this fancy mason jar snack to your next Wine & Cheese Party.

Simple Charcuterie Board Snack

Super Simple Charcuterie Board Meat & Cheese Snacks in a Jar

Charcuterie boards are everywhere these days. Go to Pinterest, and you can find thousands of ideas for making your own charcuterie board. We have made some fun snack boards in the past. They are super cool and very appealing to the eye.

But sometimes, I need an easier way to feed my kids. When they get hungry, you have less than 10 minutes to prepare something that is filling – and you know mama wants it to be somewhat healthy too! That’s why I have come up with a very simple charcuterie board idea.

Rather than getting out the wooden board and all the small bowls, all you need is a mason jar and some bamboo sticks or appetizer picks – whatever you have on hand. I have a list of ingredients below for meat and cheese snacks in a jar, but you can substitute other meats or sides depending on what the crowd you are feeling likes. You could also make an all-fruit snack in a jar, if you wish.

One simple charcuterie board jar can feed one adult or two kids, so make sure you make enough jars up for snack time!

DIY Charcuterie Board Ingredients:

A few simple ingredients make this small charcuterie board. Multiple ingredients as needed.

Charcuterie Board Shopping Lis:

  • Mixed nuts
  • Sliced pepperoni
  • Sliced salami
  • Mini pickles
  • Black olives
  • Cheese cubes
  • Babybel cheese

Other Materials:

  • Half pint jars
  • Bamboo sticks
  • Appetizer picks

How to make a Simple Charcuterie Board in a Mason Jar

How to build a Charcuterie Board:

  1. Fill each half-pint jar half full with the mixed nuts.
  2. Place each food on the bamboo sticks or appetizer picks.
  3. Put each stick inside the jar, using the nuts as a place for them to rest securely.

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over. A binder keeps me organized and gives me a place to store my recipes.

Sunday Habits for Busy Moms to Have a Productive Week

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

January 2, 2021 by Kecia Hambrick Filed Under: Facebook, Frugal Living, Hacks, Instagram, Pinterest, Printable, Social Media Leave a Comment

These Sunday habits for busy moms will help you stay productive all week long!

It’s no secret that moms lead a busy life. Whether you have one child or four, stay at home or work outside of it, there is always a list of things you need to do. And those lists never seem to completely go away. You mark off four tasks, and suddenly two or three more come up.

In order to stay (somewhat) on top of your busy schedule, you need to stay productive. You can do this by establishing good habits on Sundays. A typical calendar may start a week on Sunday, but most feel that Monday is actually day 1 – Monday is the first day of a new work week and it’s when the kids go back to school after the weekend, etc.

Sunday Habits for Busy Moms to Have a Productive Week

Productive Habits on Sunday for Busy Moms

There is a good bit of “planning” and “doing” that should happen on Sundays if you want your week to go well. Let’s look at what needs to be planned every Sunday.

Sunday Planning

  • Goals
  • To-do list
  • Meals for the week
  • Outfits
  • Family budget
  • Exercise

Where can you keep all these plans? In The Busy Mom Binder of course!

The goals can be for yourself and for your family. Do you want to declutter the attic this week? Make a plan! Maybe little Johnny needs to sell 25 more candy bars for a fundraiser. Make a plan on how he will do it! Use the goals to help make your to-do list for the week.

The rest of the planning is self-explanatory, but deciding on these things on Sunday makes the entire week run smoother. No more washing clothes the night before your child needs to wear something specific to school the next day. No more “what are we having for dinner??” every night either!

Sunday Doing

With your planning finished, it’s time to do some things to prepare for a productive week. Here are some things you can do to lessen your weekly load.

  • Grocery shopping and meal prep
  • Clean and organize home
  • Clear out your email inbox
  • Wash and put away laundry
  • Go for a walk
  • Practice self care
  • Go to bed early

Doing these tasks ahead of time removes a lot of the guesswork or late-minute busyness that may come during the week. Meal prep can save you 30 minutes or more of standing in the kitchen on a busy Tuesday night. Doing up the laundry ensures everyone has fresh clothing to wear and that the planned outfits are ready to go.

To help you remember the important Sunday habits for busy moms, I’m offering a free printable list for my readers. This printable makes it easy for you to get all the Sunday tasks done so your week can be super productive. Print the list and keep it in your Busy Mom Binder or on the fridge – somewhere you will reference it each weekend.

I’ve also included a printable motivational quote from Mark Twain that says, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” These Sunday habits allow you to do just that. Not only are you getting started, but you are getting things done so that you can prepare for a smooth week!

I also have more Busy Mom Hacks if and you need them! Pin to Pinterest.
