I had an opportunity to do a guest post, Creative and Affordable Gift Ideas for Teachers, on Baby Cheapskate last year Have a look HERE.

Back to school is coming and VERY thoughtful and CHEAP (even FREE) gifts are abundantly available on Vista Print right now.

  • Use address labels to make this book belongs to or encouragement stickers (good job, great work) HERE
  • Use business cards for the teacher to give to parents at the beginning of the year HERE.
  • Make a tote for his/her school supplies – if you don’t know their name, make it generic to the school. Fill it with the free school supplies we will get over the next few weeks. HERE.
  • Use post cards to make Thank You Notes – you don’t even need to include his/her name. Post cards can also be made with a neat education/teacher saying on the front. She/He can use them for nice notes to students, parents, etc. HERE.
  • Use a banner to write welcome back students, happy graduation, happy birthday, etc. Maybe even fit to a ciriculum subject for the year (no longer available)
  • Create a t-Shirt for the first day of school or special events HERE.
  • Use a calendar to make a planner or plan for after school activities and events HERE.

Audible & Audio Books – How I Find Time to Read!

I have told many of you my secret for reading books.

1.) I don’t have time to sit with a book.
2.) I don’t like to purchase books.

My Solution = BOOKS ON CD or Audible.com.

I LOVE books on Audio. I just finished two – “Water for Elephants” and Beth Moore’s “When Godly People Do UnGodly Things.” One being entertainment or fiction, another being spiritual and self-help.

I listen to books in the car, when I am cooking, when I am falling asleep. EVERY SECOND I CAN GET.

Where do I get Audio Books? I often get books at my library. I grab the CD version of the book, upload it to my iPod and then erase it when I am done listening. This was not always working for me, though, because my library did not carry Audios of many of the books I wanted to read.

To remember to cancel your Audible membership, place a reminder on your phone, your calendar, and perhaps on your bathroom mirror as a post it.

Saving Star – Electronic Coupons that Pay You

Efficiency – my favorite word when it comes to couponing. Anything that lessens the cutting, printing, etc work on my end is exciting.

Saving Star might be a solution for you. Saving Star is eCoupons meaning coupons you do not print or cut but rather upload to your store card. It is very similar to Upromise only money goes in your account rather than toward your child’s college tuition.

1.) Head over to Saving Star.

2.) Select the coupons you want to place on your card – sometimes it is just best to upload them all just incase you pick up that item.

3.) Have the cashier scan your store card at checkout. The money does not come off your bill but rather goes into your Savings Star account within 7 to 30 days. Once you hit $5 in savings, have the money deposited in your bank account, sent to you via Pay Pal, an Amazon gift card or donate your savings to charity.
