Where I live in North Alabama, the Colgate was actually on sale BOGO for 1.95 so I got FREE toothpaste and then they had 30+10 packs of Halls in the BOGO sale not just 30 packs. The Country Crock spread I had some Target q’s to pair with the manufacture $0.40/1 that made them $0.40 MM. The Ragu I also had a $1.50/2 q that made them $0.10 per jar. And the Hunt’s Tomatoes I had a $3/10 that will total up to $1.05 for 10 with the q in this Sunday’s paper.
Just started doing couponing around the end of December, so I feel like I had a good haul today at 89.5% off original cost of everything I bought (including items that I didn’t list above that I bought). Still haven’t broken the 90% mark, but I have saved over $300 this month already at an average of around 70% off my total bill. Hope all the newbies have as much fun as I do, and don’t feel so overwhelmed, it’s all really simple once you break it down (and I still have a TON to learn myself).
Yea!!!! Good shopping
Thanks for the in structions – and the reminder that Publix will take competitor coupons!
The Publix in Bradfordville will not take coupons unless they are from a grocery store. They said that Family Dollar, Dollar General and Walgreens are not considered a “grocery store” therefore they will not accept them. They used to be more versatile on which coupons they would accept but the last time I went in there with competitor coupons other than manufacturer or grocery store coupons, they were kind of rude. Before I could finish asking if it were accepted the clerk at the service desk quickly snapped and said ” its not a grocery store and we do not accept them.” Hope this helps save some time and energy. Have a blessed day!
Quick Question… on something like the B1G1 Kraft Dressing when you also have a B2G1 coupon, isn’t it better to grab four of them? I think you can get 4 for the price of one, which brings total down to $.73 each…
yes! Janay – that is right!
Ventured out to Publix for the first time to go on a coupon expedition! Was all excited and left a little let down…I bought $100 worth the groceries and paid $60 something. I saved $40 something. My aggravation was that they would only accept Winn-Dixie coupons. I had Target, Walgreens, and Dollar General. What does your Publix accept?
Mine accepts all three, however there is talk they will no longer take drug store coupons. They have taken all three because Target is next store and Walgreens is across the street.
Miriam, still a good savings!
I have never had any issues using competitor coupons at my Publix. I used the $5 off $25 dollar general coupon there yesterday, and today I used 8 Target coupons and they didn’t even bat an eye at them (and the Asst. Store Manager was the one that bagged my groceries and the cashier didn’t even hesitate and ask if they were ok to use).
There is also a $.50 Country Crock target printable this week…I doubled it and the .40 and got got 30 oz. of butter for $.09!!!!
