A friend showed this to me and I just had to share. We were supposed to leave town this weekend; but now that we’re staying, I am scrambling with what to do on Father’s Day. We’ve already updated his grilling apron with handprints (just buy an apron from Michael’s and put your kids’ handprints on it every year – he loves it); but we needed one more thing and I think this is it!

Simply Seleta has a cute idea over HERE. It’s for a Hero Box, filled with all sorts of candies, snacks, etc. that are labeled with Hero labels. She gives you the templates to download and customize (all from Jordan of Oh Happy Day). It’s all in a wooden box (I’m thinking Michael’s or JoAnn probably has these). I envision adding ‘Daddy Coupons’ to it for something a little more long term. Men LOVE to know they’re our kids’ heroes, so this is perfect!

Another idea is to ‘interview’ your child – if they’re old enough. Two is okay as long as they’re pretty verbal. Ask them questions about their dad. The answers are so cute. We did this last year and I typed up all the questions and answers in different fonts and colors in a word document. Then I printed it and took it to Kinko’s to get it laminated, punched holes in the top and ties a ribbon through it. It now hangs in his office and I think it’s a fun thing to do every year to see how the answers change.   Here’s mine if you’d like to use it for a template (all of the fonts may not transfer, so you’ll have to use your own). This was only about $2 for the cost of laminating.
